Halstead Public Gardens WWII War Memorial

Unveiled in 1948 a memorial in the form of a Sundial with a single stepped plinth on a circular base was created in Halstead Public Gardens and around it a garden of remembrance with flower beds etc. 

At the base of the monument are the surnames and regiment of 37 of the WWII war dead of Halstead and an inscription:

 "AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN

AND IN THE MORNING

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM 1939 - 1945" 

The War Memorial is cleaned and cared for by Halstead Town Council.
