Hallamshire Branch affiliation with Sheffield Army
Cadets
The Hallamshire Branch of the Royal
British Legion is pleased to be affiliated with the Somme
Detachment of the Sheffield Army
Cadets based at the Somme Barracks, Gell Street, Sheffield, S10
2HU. The affiliation took place on 21st June 2011 and was
announced by Mr John Sayles, County Chairman, South and West
Yorkshire, Royal British Legion.
To mark the occasion the Lord Mayor
and County Chairman presented signed certificates of affiliation to
the Detachment Commander, Sergeant Instructor Chris Harrison and Mr
Craig Williams, RBL Branch Secretary. Each cadet was also
presented with a Royal British Legion affiliation badge by the Lord
Mayor, these are worn on the cadet's brassard together with other
proficiency badges they achieve during their cadet career.
The evening had been organised by
Probationary Instructor Rebecca Montgomery who is an Instructor at
the detachment and a Facilities Management Assistant for South
Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.
Guest included Mr David and Mrs
Sandra Hicks from the Army Benevolent Fund, Lieutenant Colonel Tony
Barron, Deputy Commandant HSY ACF, Major Dean Rushby, Officer
Commanding D Company HSY ACF, Parents and Guardians of cadets and
Sergeant Savage Sheffield Armed Forces Careers Office (AFCO).
