The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

View our Mi Amigo page to learn about the American airmen who lost their lives when their B17 Flying Fortress (named Mi Amigo)  crashed in Sheffield on 22nd February 1944.

Every year on the Sunday nearest to the 22nd February, members of the Hallamshire Branch attend the memorial in Endcliffe Park in Sheffield to remember those American airmen in the Mi Amigo who made the ultimate sacrifice.  Click here to see photographs of the ceremony.
