The History of Galanos House
On 15/6/1953 a Deed of Settlement and subsequently a Will dated 29/5/1956 Christos Galanos left a bequest for the express purpose of
"THE MAINTENANCE OF A BRITISH LEGION COUNTRY HOME IN THE BRITISH ISLE TO BE KNOWN AS 'GALANOS HOUSE' TO PROVIDE ACCOMMODATION FOR AGED AND PERMANENTLY INCAPACITATED EX-SERVICE MEN AND EX-SERVICE WOMEN AS PERMANENT RESIDENTS THEREIN."
This led to the creation of a British Legion Care Home in Long Itchington, Warwickshire. Ten years after it was opened this article appeared in the local press.
