D-Day, a historic day that marked the allied invasion of Normandy during World War II, was commemorated this 80th year with a Beacon Lighting event at the Institute.

Fulbourn RBL branch is affiliated with both the 57 ^th Fulbourn Scouts and the 104 Air Cadet Sqaudron and members of both organisations supported this event by providing readings and undertaking the lighting of the beacon.
