Kings Coronation 2023
The branch led a number of events in the village to celebrate the Kings coronation.
The May bank holiday saw the branch spearheading the drive to invite all village groups / organisations to recognise the Kings Coronation.
These events included:
- A varied musical entertainment held at the Six Bells over the weekend
- A Family Fun Run
- Coronation Scarecrow competition
- Coronation Luncheon for 70 senior citizens at the Six Bells
- Commemorative Tree and Bench by The Gardening Society
- An endless tapestry of Bunting and stitching display by Village Stitches
- Knitted displays on local post boxes courtesy of Village Stiches on
- Acquisition of 500 Coronation Mugs, one each going to the Schoolchildren, Domino Nursery and Baby Dragons. From the sale of the surplus mugs, we were able to donate £330.00 to the Village Youth Club.
We were also proud to note Paul Thorbinson being recognised for his continuous professionalism and dedication in his role as branch standard bearer as one of only 100 Standard Bearers chosen to be on parade in parliament square on the day of the coronation.
