Devizes

Its been a busy few months

It may be a little chilly this week but I am sure you will agree that the last month or so has been pretty good. And as a group we have not missed an opportunity to get out there and raise awareness of what we do to the wider community.

During May and June we have taken part in two community events;

The Health and Wellbeing Event & The Lions Fair and Classic Car Show both on the Big Green in Devizes. We were pretty lucky with the weather and both occasions were well supported by the local community. It was great to speak to people and help them understand the RBL is not just about the Poppy Appeal. I think some of the cars on display may well even have been older than us. We felt positively spring chicken like.

We also took part in the rededication of the county standards and as always Chaz did the branch proud. We also got all dressed up to take part in a Drumhead at the Fovant Badges meeting up with 11 other branches. I am not sure they are all as busy as we are.

I am sure you will agree that after such a packed schedule it was finally time to kick back and put our feet up. So a very pleasant evening was then spent messing about on the river, well the Kennet & Avon Canal if I am being precise. We had a few refreshments, some nibbles, and a little quiz. All agreed they would like more social activities, so we hope to be able to arrange a few months through the year. If you have any suggestions please reach out to one of the committee (through the branch information page) and we would be happy to explore how we can make it happen.
