Corby

To commemorate the centenary of the end of the first world war, our Branch Secretary came up with the idea of cycling 100 miles from the Cenotaph in Central London to the James Ashworth VC square to help raise money for the 2018 Corby Poppy Appeal.

Five brave cyclists associated with the branch undertook this immense task on the 27th October 2018, they were Colin Williamson - Branch Secretary, Gregory Allen - Branch Standard Bearer, Sharren Mcgrory, Kerry Ashworth and Sharon Mcharg.

Firstly Thank You Tom Pursglove MP for meeting us at the Cenotaph in Central London before we left on our unforgiving journey.

We did it in some of the worst winter weather seen this year, we left at 0600hrs and arrived at 1830 after 25MPH head winds for the whole 100 miles, sleet and rain.
