A huge thank you to all who have contributed to the Poppy Appeal 2022/23.  The total (June 2023) stands at £85,000.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated band of helpers who distribute and then collect the full tins – some 950 in total – and we could not achieve so much without local support from shops, businesses, pubs, and supermarkets.  Our young folks from Arle Road ACF, 125 and 2322 ATC Squadrons, and Sea Cadets from TS Nelson together with the current generation of Service personnel from GCHQ ensure a uniformed presence on our streets and supermarkets. – thanks to you all for battling against the elements!  Our local schools are hugely enthusiastic and of course take the time to engage in what the Poppy represents.  The major retailers in town have done us proud too – Regent Arcade, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Asda, Waitrose, Aldi, and Lidl really provide great support.

THE 2023/24 POPPY APPEAL STARTS IN OCTOBER – HERE ARE SOME KEY DATES:

• National Launch Thursday 26^th
• Regent Arcade stand opens Saturday 28^th October to Saturday 11^th November.
• Poppy sales in all outlets from Thursday 26^th
• Street collections from Saturday 4^th November to Saturday 11^th
• 2-minute Silence Saturday 11^th November at 11:00.
• Final collection day – Saturday 11^th
• Remembrance Sunday 12^th
