Camberley Branch RBL Annual Poppy Day on Saturday 28th October 2017 .
We will be looking for volunteers to assist on the day to help it be a successful start to this years Poppy Appeal. Please contact Dave Kemp on 07799525256, John Mills on 01276681463.
Poppy Day Saturday 28th Ocotber 2017 Park Street Camberley
Programme for the day shows last years, this years programme not yet activated.
- 0700 John and Margaret Mills, Dave and Pauline Kemp arrive at Counting room with equipment for the day, set-up collecting room, hospitality room.
- 0730 Erect gazebos (one county gazebo for branch use and one for tombola (Peter and Alice Alexander) in Park Street). Volunteer helpers to assist in erecting the gazebos. Other Gzebo(Limb Care) from others attending to be erected from 0730 - 0800hrs.
- Military Vehicles x 4 will arrive as soon as is practically possible.
- Classis cars x 6 to be in situ by no later than 1000 hrs.
- Riders Branch x 2 riders will be in situ before 1000 hrs.
- Radio Frimley Park Outside Broadcast commence setting up between 0730/0830.
- 0830 Brolly ladies and collectors arrive for briefing and issue of their collection requirements.
- 0900 - the main collection starts, all Brolly Ladies/Poppy petals and cadets from sea cadets/army /ATC to collection points (approx 4 Ladies) - all briefed to go for refreshments approximately every 90 minutes (all to be in Park Street as briefed by 1030 ready to march off at 1050)
- Parking:- individual arrangements as arranged for parking by the council.
- Frimley and Camberley Cadet Corps of Drums to lead the parade.
- Standards from the RBL
- Brolly Ladies, cadets and volunteers (limit numbers to approximately 100).
- Any disabled people, disabled veterans and those unable to walk long distances, to be in Park Street.
- Parade marshal as arranged by Mr John Mills, WO1 Earl Hutchins
- 1045 VIPs plus Staff from Council, Mayor to go to Park Street.
- 1050 Parade to march on
- 1100 The Mayor of Surrey Borough Heath Council Councellor John Winterton will read the EXORTATION, followed by 30 seconds silence.
- 1105 The Mayor of Surrey Heath Borough Council will welcome everyone and introduce the VIPs, Guests and members of the public and open the Camberley Poppy Day.
- 1140 Frimley and Camberley Corps of drums will play for a short period followed by music from FPH OB.
- 1200 Camberley Martial Arts
- 1230 FPHOB
- 1300 Cambereley Martial Arts
- 1330 Stagecoach
- 1400 Phoenix
- 1430 Liberty Gymnastis
- 1500 REDZ
- 1530 Liberty Gymnastics
- 1600 FPHOB
- 1630 Day will end, Park street to return to normal
Through out the day collections for the Poppy Appeal will be conducted in the Mall, High Street, Park Street and the Atrium by the Brolly Ladies and Poppy Petals and the cadets and volunteers as arranged by Camberley's Poppy Appeal Organiser Mr J Mills.
Friday 3rd November 2017.
Annual Poppy Concert, Lakeside Frimley Green at 7 30 pm. Music by The Surrey Police Band. Interval entertainment to be confirmed. Raffle - tickets £1 00 a strip. Concert Tickets £8 00, Programmes £3 00. Doors open at 1900 hours, concert start at 1930hrs.
All standard bearers are welcome to attend

Annual Civic Remembrance Service St Michaels Church 1400hrs followed by parade at 1500hrs, laying of wreaths, parade dispersal by the museum steps - refreshment available in the members room of SHBC - all standard bearers are welcome

Our Poppy Appeal Organiser is on the look out for volunteers to distribute poppies and tins and then collect them back in at the end of the appeal, ready to be handed over to Poppy appeal money counting band of volunteers. also volunteers to man boxes in the stores - please contact Mr John Mills on 01276681463. Our total for 2016 has been recorded as currently over £56,000 .00, so far with more to come in, so once again we are very grateful and thankful to all who supported our 2016/17 appeal.
