The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.
When Armistice Day, (the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month) does not fall on Remembrance Sunday, informal homage is paid at the main Barnoldswick and Earby War Memorials on the 11th November, where small gatherings take place to observe the two-minute silence at 11a.m.
Anyone who would like to join us are more than welcome.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today. Barnoldswick and District Branch has three memorials within the branch area and subsequently three separate remembrance services are held.
The Branch committee work hard to support the community and have a representation at all services.
Timings are subject to change and should be checked, however these are usually:-
Salterforth Memorial - 11am
------------
Earby (Sough Park) - 2:00pm
------------
Barnoldswick Memorial - 3pm
In addition, the branch attends a variety of other services and events, throughout the year, to remember and celebrate all those who have served.
