The annual Hertfordshire Royal British Legion County Conference took place on Sunday 29th January 2017 at the Hatfield Social Club. As well as the business at hand, recently passed members were remembered, and greetings from her Majesty the Queen were read out. One highlight was the increase in the Poppy Appeal collection, now standing nationally at £37 million.

After winning the Hertfordshire Standard Bearer Competition, Baldock member Al Hayhurst became the County Standard Bearer and was inducted at the conference by County President, Colonel Kevin Fitzgerald.

Our guest speakers this year were from SERV, known as the 'Blood Runners', volunteers who deliver blood and milk by motorcycle to hospitals across the county out of hours.
The feeling at the conference was very positive about the future of the Legion, but new members, Poppy collectors and supporters will always be made most welcome.
