Remembrance Sunday – Baldock

Blessed with dry and bright weather, the annual parade at the Baldock War Memorial for Remembrance Sunday took place attended by some 600 members of the community from all walks of life. Representing the Queen was the Lord Lieutenant, Lady Verulam, with Councillor Alan Millard, the Vice Chairman of North Hertfordshire District Council as leading citizen.

On parade were members of 254 Medical Regiment, many wearing campaign medals from a variety of war zones, veterans, local authorities, youth organisations and town organisations.

Headmaster Tim Litchfield from Knights Templar School led a contingent of students who read out the names of the fallen, and musicians who gave a beautiful backing to the hymn and National Anthem. Many then attended the hospitality of the Community Centre where tea and coffee was on offer, courtesy of Tesco.
