The Ashburton branch was first established in 1926. Around 1950 a Nissan hut was put up in a large garden near the Recreation Ground. This hut is Ashburton Legion Branch HQ (known locally as The Legion Hut) in Blogishay Lane used for meetings and to hold fundraising events, such as barbecues during the summer.
