The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

Our Branch will be conducting the Full Remembrance service at St Peter's Church Portesham followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the Village War Memorial.

Prior to this there will be a small wreath laying ceremony at the War Memorial in Abbotsbury's St. Nicholas church.

In 2017 the service will be conducted in Abbotsbury as each year the villages alternate the service between them.
