Spain District North

2021 ANNUAL MEETING OF DISTRICT CONFERENCE

On 24th February, the Annual Conference of The Royal British Legion, District Spain North, was held online for the first time, owing to the constraints of the ongoing pandemic.  As well as our guest speakers , we were joined by representatives from the majority of branches.  Legion Head Office in London was represented by Kate Green, Head of the Overseas Team and we were joined by the Overseas Member of the Membership Council, Bob Chambers.  We were also delighted to welcome His Excellency,  Ambassador Hugh Elliott for the first time since he became our Patron in Spain.

As well as hearing enlightening views from of our guests, each of whom gave us their view of the work of the Legion in the wider perspective,  Chairman Don Cubbon gave a resumé of the District's current situation, including Legion and District finances, and its many activities during the past 12 months.  Pamela Twissell-Cross expanded on Community Support activities and plans for the future.   While many activities have been curtailed during the current crisis, what was clear from all of these reports is that the support provided by the Legion has never been in greater demand and that those delivering it were working harder than ever and finding ever more inventive ways of continuing to deliver it.
