Each year, in late October some 30,000 Legion volunteers take to the streets with poppies and collecting boxes, raising millions of pounds for the Poppy Appeal.  Every poppy shows you can about the lives of our Armed Forces community.

The Royal British Legion is working hard to support the most vulnerable in our society, be it older veterans that we care for, those who suffer from social isolation, or those who are simply overwhelmed by the challenges associated with the cost-of-living crisis.  The money collected provides this support to serving and ex-service men and women and their dependants.

In 2023/24, Nottinghamshire raised over £600,000 (financial year calculated from Oct to Sep).

Poppy People

We always need new volunteers - Poppy People - to assist with Poppy Appeal collecting in Nottinghamshire.

We need our incredible volunteer collectors out there on the streets like you, without appeal organisers we could not provide the life-changing support for the Armed Forces community.

And we urgently need to recruit more people in the following areas:

• Retford
• Cotgrave
• West Bridgford
• Jacksdale & Selston
• Elston
• Nottingham City Centre
