Poppy Breaks

Bennet House Poppy Break Centre, Portrush

Bennet House is the Legion's Poppy Break Centre in Portrush, County Antrim, providing free one or two week breaks, to both serving and ex-Service members of the Armed Forces community and their families.

Bennet House, with its beautiful sea front location boasting panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Scottish Isles, is situated close to the centre of the town.  It is a wonderful venue to get away from the stress and strain of daily life.  Cliff top walks, the harbour, golf courses and sandy, Blue Flag beaches offer a contrast to the amusements, fairground attractions and town centre amenities.  There are many attractions nearby including the Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Bushmills Distillery and Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge.

The facilites include 16 luxurious en-suite bedrooms, two with disabled facilities on the ground floor.  Each bedroom has a flat screen TV with Freeview channels and DVD player, hospitality tray, heated towel rails and complimentary toiletries.  There are also inter-connecting bedrooms which are ideal for carers and families.  The building is fully accessible and is serviced by two lifts.

The Causeway Room, a 1950's American Diner themed room, offers free Wi-Fi connection and the room is also used for many activities including tea dances, weekly live entertainment and craft activities such as decoupage, card making and Poppy felt craft.

Other facilities also include a Roof Terrace, Hairdressing Salon and Therapy Room where guests can enjoy a range of relaxing therapies during their break.
