Bennet House Poppy Break Centre, Portrush
Bennet House is the Legion's Poppy Break Centre in Portrush, County Antrim, providing free one or two week breaks, to both serving and ex-Service members of the Armed Forces community and their families.
Bennet House, with its beautiful sea front location boasting panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Scottish Isles, is situated close to the centre of the town. It is a wonderful venue to get away from the stress and strain of daily life. Cliff top walks, the harbour, golf courses and sandy, Blue Flag beaches offer a contrast to the amusements, fairground attractions and town centre amenities. There are many attractions nearby including the Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Bushmills Distillery and Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge.
The facilites include 16 luxurious en-suite bedrooms, two with disabled facilities on the ground floor. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV with Freeview channels and DVD player, hospitality tray, heated towel rails and complimentary toiletries. There are also inter-connecting bedrooms which are ideal for carers and families. The building is fully accessible and is serviced by two lifts.
The Causeway Room, a 1950's American Diner themed room, offers free Wi-Fi connection and the room is also used for many activities including tea dances, weekly live entertainment and craft activities such as decoupage, card making and Poppy felt craft.
Other facilities also include a Roof Terrace, Hairdressing Salon and Therapy Room where guests can enjoy a range of relaxing therapies during their break.

To be eligible for a one week or two week break you must meet one of the following criteria:

Long term ill health or terminal illness

Bereavement of spouse / partner or close family member

Physical or mental trauma

Care for a disabled or chronically ill partner

Living in isolation
Guests who are not independent may bring a Carer with them to enhance their break.
We can also offer family breaks where families can enjoy all the treats you would expect in a sea side town and much more. Daily outings to open farms, ten pin bowling, cinema, craft classes, picnic lunches, barbecues and Barry's amusements are among the exciting programme of activites offered.
To qualify for a Family Break at Bennet House you must meet one of the following criteria:

Households with only one parent due to bereavement or family break up or households where one parent is serving on overseas operations

Households that have not had a holiday away from home in 3 years
