Volunteer Visitors carry on one of the longest traditions within
the Legion, offering companionship to people who are isolated or
vulnerable.
Poppy Support Visitors help Legion beneficiaries who are
vulnerable or isolated, they are a friendly face and ear. Their
role is to:
• Provide companionship to those isolated, unwell or
vulnerable;
• Carry out visits promptly;
• Occasionally give a small gift; and
• Identify needs and pass these back to the local County
Office.
On arrival, visitors are able to offer a small gift from the
Legion to those they visit to help break the ice. The role requires
a willingness to donate time regularly, an ear that can be bent and
the ability to offer friendship.
If you think you would enjoy a chat and carrying out regular
visits to people in your local area please get in touch.
