Ways that people in Kent can support the Royal British Legion.
As Custodian of Remembrance we ensure the memories of those who have fought and sacrificed in the British Armed Forces live on through the generations.
Through our welfare work we help the British Armed Forces, veterans, and their families to live on to a more hopeful future.
There are many ways you and your friends, family and colleagues can challenge yourselves and raise money for a great cause. From entering a marathon to organising a small picnic you could make a difference to those that need our help now and help us ensure the memory of the fallen lives on.
We organise a whole range of events throughout the year and there are lots of ways for you to participate and show your support. Including an annual Cycle Ride from London to Paris, the London Marathon, London Triathlon, Endurance Events such as the 30:30 on Exmoor, for further details go to the RBL website http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/fundraising/fundraising-events
Host a Poppy Picnic during the summer; a really fun way to bring together friends and family and raise money for the vital welfare work that the Royal British Legion provides to our military families all year round. We provide practical help and ideas to help you make your picnic a great day out, for further information and to order your own Poppy Picnic Pack go to http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/poppy-picnic
For 100 different ideas for you and perhaps your team at work or a social/sports group you can download our Poppy Challenge Pack, which provides not only some great fundraising ideas but really helpful information on how to organise and promote your challenge safely and successfully. http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/media/1391239/poppychallengepack.pdf
Each year from late October to mid November, over 350,000 Poppy Appeal collectors appear nationwide to assist with our biggest fundraising drive. We cannot raise the much needed funds without the generosity of the public or the network of volunteers we rely upon to distribute, collect and count during the Poppy Appeal. If you would like to offer your support locally please contact; Jane Ayers CFR West Kent Jayers@britishlegion.org.uk or 01622 793194 or if you live in East Kent, Julie Roper CFR JRoper@britishlegion.org.uk or: 07833 480272.
To honour our bravest, we're inviting Legion supporters young and old, to get together to walk, run, ride or swim at sponsored Honour Events across the UK. We can provide the support you need locally if you are considering organising a sponsored Walk, Run, Ride or Swim.
