The Poppy Appeal in Dorset

The Poppy Appeal is the RBL’s biggest fundraising campaign and for 100 years, poppies have been worn in the days leading up to Remembrance Day on 11th November to commemorate those who died on behalf of our country.

Money raised from the Poppy Appeal is used to help those that have served in the armed forces and their families with through a vast array of welfare support services including physical and mental well-being, financial and employment support, and local and community connections.

Poppy Appeal Organisers and Volunteers

Each year, in early November, over 30,000 amazing British Legion volunteers spring into action and take to the streets. Forming the backbone of the charity these volunteers ensure poppy merchandise and products are placed in the community so that everyone can take part who wants to. Post appeal they collect in monies raised, count, and bank and join the hundreds of volunteers the length and breadth of the country who make the appeal the success it has been for 100 years.

We are always looking for new, enthusiastic, and willing volunteers to help with the Poppy Appeal in Dorset and join our brilliant team.

We urgently need to recruit more volunteers than ever as many of our valued volunteers have recently retired from active duty. Add to this the ever-increasing demand on the Legion's services and you can see we need your help!
