News & Events

The Ashbourne Branch of the Royal British Legion held a service of Re-Dedication for The Memorial Gates on Sunday June 10th 2018.

 Branch Chairman Paddy Kerr invited RBL County President Mr Robert Shields DL to lock the Gates. The Key was then formally handed to The Chairman.

The service of re-dedication was led by Rev. N. Rode during which Standards were lowered. The Prayer was led by Rev T. Morris.

Col. Adam Fraser-Hitchen laid a wreath on behalf of all service people who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Ashbourne President, Mr Brell Ewart then tied the first message of remembrance in memory of those lost in WW1 in commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice.
