Welcome to the The Royal British Legion Minehead, Somerset

MINEHEAD AND WEST SOMERSET GOLF CLUB CHARITY GOLF DAY

The Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club hold an annual charity golf day for the Minehead Poppy Appeal and welcomed the return of a visiting team sponsored by Plymouth City Bus, most of whom are ex-service men.

In 2012 £1,641.67 was raised by the Club, all of which goes directly to the Poppy Appeal.

Event organizers Gareth Latham and Philip Collins considered the day was an enormous success, and had beaten the previous year's total. Plymouth City Bus Managing Director, Richard Stevens, donated a TV which had been raffled prior to the event, and a cheque for £350 raised was presented to Jacky Hardman, Poppy Appeal Organiser for Minehead Royal British Legion.

Having last year returned to Plymouth with only a bottle of wine, this year the Plymouth City Bus team walked away with 1st, 2nd and 4th prizes. Next year's event has already been arranged for Satuday 26 October, 2013 and the Minehead and West Somerset team are looking forward to the challenge. 108 players took part.
