Milton Keynes

Branch committee visit Framemaker MK.

“After a staggering amount of ceramic poppies were donated to the tower of London in November 2014, MirrorOutlet and Framemaker MK came up with the great idea of providing a framing service to preserve the sentimental value of the poppies. Donating £25 off every order to the Royal British Legion.

They hit their first milestone by raising £1,000 in the first six months! To honour their donation, Framemaker invited members of  Milton Keynes Jubilee Branch for a grand tour of the poppy displays and how they are put together; from the design of the back drop ‘Blood swept lands and seas of red’ to the poppy being mounted and finally the frame being made and put together. We also framed a ceramic poppy from the Jubilee branch which will be auctioned as at a sale to raise funds for research into the protection of mine blast injuries suffered by many service personnel in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Finally, Liz Goodman, Treasurer of the jubilee branch gratefully received the £1000 cheque on behalf of the Royal British Legion poppy appeal. It will be used to help support serving members of the armed forces, ex-service men and women and their families, who have fallen on hard times, now and for the rest of their lives.”
